Hutch Sri Lanka - Win-Win with ZTE in four years

Sri Lanka is a tourist and agricultural country with 20 Million population.In recent years, Sri Lanka's Telecommunication industry has developed rapidly, especially in Mobile telecom service.

As a fully owned subsidiary of a leading multinational operator, Hutch constructed comprehensive cooperation with ZTE from 2003.

Play significant role in local telecom market

Through the stable connection be twe en both pa r t i e s , HUTCH surpassed the one million customer milestone only within two years. Moving forward Hutchison telecom Lanka will extend its coverage in Sri Lanka, doubling the size of its existing network, and ZTE was chosen to be
the major vendor in this growing plan.

Back in 2004, New Year eve, the date that ZTE committed to deliver the network, ZTE commissioning team stayed in the control room whole day long together with the staffs from HUTCH to ensure the reliable and stable launch and running of the network, that memorable day witnessed the successful beginning of new era of corporation between HUTCH and ZTE.

Since 2004, Hutch’s Network maintained the sustainable expansion in scale and Phase II & III contract with ZTE has been signed sequentially. Because of excellent performance, immediate customer responding, professional after-sales service in the last three years, ZTE won the next three phases’ expansion contract in June 2007. ZTE has undisputedly become the long-term
cooperation partner of Hutch Sri Lanka.

During the cooperat ion, ZTE applied itself to optimizing the Hutch network. ZTE collected the main KPI in everyday morning, to make Hutch know the latest network performance,and also help the network planning and optimizing team to adjust the network depend on the network development and changes in every day.

With several years ’ capacity expansion, ZTE resigned the frequency reuse and BTS distribution to improve the network quality. After the network optimizing process, the Handover success rate rose to 96.1% and the TCH congestion rate reduced to 0.29%.

NetSpeed technique assists Hutch gain more subscribers recognizing ZTE provides high output BTS and NetSpeed solution like DPCT and FWDR, and Super Extend Coverage to cover about 60 kilometers by one BTS on the bank. That provide communication service to everybody
working and/or travelling subscriber in Sri Lanka.

ZTE’s main motto of focusing on the Win-Win situation with customer has been noticed by Hutch in these years. And due to this, both of Hutch and ZTE will go to the future stronger
together.
