Booming Expansion, Large Scale
Libyana just uses 1 year to exceed her former company after separation to become the largest mobile operator in Libya. Libyana have made several records and are changing people’s lives: The SIM card price reduced from 500 Dinar/piece to 5; SMS function was first introduced by Libyana; Video call & HSDPA covered all Tripoli and other main cities. UMTS has same coverage as GSM in Tripoli. Users do not need to change their SIM or phone number through ZTE CN Mobile Number Portability function.
The unexpected subscribers increase amazingly, 4 expansion projects proceeding, providing capacity to 1.6 Million UMTS and 3.8 Million GSM.
Large Capacity, Less Nodes
2G/3G are using the same Core Network and HLR. CN elements have huge capacity with reduced node quantity for easy operation & maintenance.
2G/3G CN and UMTS RNC are applied on the same hardware platform. The processing/switching boards are exchangeable. The total spare parts are reduced to 40% for better management & logistics.
1st HSDPA In North Africa
Before the HSDPA was introduced by Libyana, the Libyan had few chances to have a convenient access to the internet due to the extremely high connection fee and daily usage cost of ADSL. When the 120-Dinar HSDPA USB Modem appears in the market, only 30 Dinar a month is enough for a great block flow downloading. Otherwise, people have more bundle selections from the Libyana vendors around the city.
Long Term Cooperation
ZTE acts as the paving stones during Libyana’s expansion, making a solid foundation. Both of us cherish and keep our excellent relationship. With the planning according to the hardware capability, there are many choices for Libyana to upgrade her GSM/UMTS network for further evolution.
