By Han Yang
ZTE launched the World Expo 3G volunteers’ recruitment at the Fudan University on 26th November, 2009, expecting to recruit 100 college students to participate in Expo coverage with the use of various 3G terminal products during the World Expo Shanghai 2010. ZTE hopes to demonstrate China’s own 3G technology on such a global platform as the Expo and make due contribution to promote China’s 3G technology to the world.
He Shiyou, Executive Vice President of ZTE, said, “This event will let consumers experience 3G applications and contribute greatly to the popularity of 3G applications and the World Expo publicity. This event also gives the students an opportunity to understand 3G, serve the Expo, and show their talents.” This 3G volunteer event sets a precedent of high-tech volunteers and will deepen people’s understanding of 3G technology and products.
During the World Expo, 3G functions such as mobile navigation and mobile payment will all be delivered through ZTE’s 3G terminals. For example, the entertainment mobile phones U210 and U500 allow easy enjoyment of both visual and auditory feasts and provide a handy companion to the volunteers at the Expo park; the high-end smartphone N72 can connect to a computer or television to set up video calls and facilitate live broadcasting of the Expo; the slim MU351 data card offering stable network connection gives people on the move a balance between work and play.
The Expo is meant to convey to the world the latest products and development concepts. The 3G volunteer action, which allows volunteers to report the World Expo with 3G terminals, is the best way to interpret the significance of the Expo.
