Innovations Succeed Customer Value -ZTE UMTS “Uni-RAN” Solution

Being the mainstream in telecom development, mobile telecom market has promoted more new services, owns more subscribers as well as intensifies the competition after mobile Internet era came. Whether in developed markets or emerged markets, operators concern more about low cost to construct and develop their network in creating leading mobile broadband network while at the same time achieving smooth evolution to the future.

  1. Uni-RAN Creating High-Speed, Green and Convergent Mobile Broadband Network

Multi-Mode Convergence: SDR-based Uni-RAN solution implements unified 2G/3G hardware, network management and networking, converges several networks into a “single network”, saving investment and reducing O&M workload.

High-Speed Smooth Evolution: SDR-based Node B adopts unified MicroTCA platform and multi-carrier PA technology to achieve high integrity and processing capacity. All-IP design supports HSPA.HSPA+ is also available only by software upgrade, peak data hits 21.6Mbps. SDR-based Node B has a natural advantage to evolve to LTE, only adding LTE baseband processing board and software upgrade actualize 150 Mbps download rate, which fully protecting operators’ investment.

Green: On the foundation of DPD+Doherty PA technology, SDR-based Node B adopts self-developed algorithm and D-PT technology to make PA efficiency reach 45%, which averagely decreases 30% power consumption for Node B, reducing power consumption, carbon emissions as well as operating cost greatly. SDR-based Node B also utilizes distributed architecture; BBU and RRU have small volume and light weight to make full use of existing space and achieve “zero footprint” installation. What’s more, no special transport equipments are required, realizing real green network construction.

  2. Uni-RAN Achieving Quality Delivery Efficiently

Sharing Logistics, Rapid Delivery: Since different modes products are based on the unified SDR platform, hardwares are prepared universally for all product lines, ensuring stability of stocking and producing. “Sharing mechanism” and “green channel” can easily meet the abrupt boosting requirement on products. In addition, ZTE establishes global logistics center in Shenzhen and Hong Kong, with over 20 branches around the world, which allows smooth logistics channel arrive at every corner of the world.
Standardized Implementation, Highly Efficient Engineering: Owning consummate three-level structure for after-sale projects with clear responsibilities and high-efficient management; a wireless expert team is ready to offer help for global key projects and difficulties at 24 hours; having 300 qualified UMTS after-sale project managers, 600 technical experts, 1,200 technicians, and over 600 engineering subcontractors. These abundant human resources guarantee every project’s smooth implementation.

Professional Optimization, Premier Quality Network: Good performance and coverage are the essence to keep customers. But only qualified network planning and optimization teams with rich experiences and professional equipments can fulfill them. After so many years’ wireless network construction, ZTE has established an excellent network planning and optimization team with 2,000 engineers and 800 experts to help operators construct premier quality network and realize whole network intelligent optimization.

ZTE UMTS Uni-RAN solution has provided customers with high-quality services over 30 countries around the world. ZTE successfully accomplished network swap for CSL, the largest mobile operator in Hong Kong, commissioned the first SDR-based HSPA+ network all over the world, which helps CSL to take the leading position in Hong Kong mobile telecom market. During China Unicom’s network construction, ZTE deployed over 26, 000 sets of Node Bs in more than 90 cities, finished delivery within two months, always leading the engineering progress. And ZTE comprehensively ranked the No.1 in the network KPI test conducted by the third party, guaranteeing the commercial launch of China Unicom’s WCDMA network with its sophisticated solution and high-quality services.
