ZTE UMTS Broadband Mobile Network Solution

High-speed multi-media service, the most attractive service in future 3G network, allows subscribers enjoy unprecedented broadband mobile services. To achieve high-speed service, network has to be upgraded to support higher rate and improve network performance. However, operators’ inputs and outputs are always not in proportion. Therefore how to construct 3G network with high starting point at low cost becomes every operator’s concern.

1.    ZTE Broadband Mobile Network Solution

End-to-End HSPA+ Solution: ZTE always spearheads HSPA+ research and commercial launch, and keeps high starting point and high requirement of research standard, realizing HSPA+ function in whole network from Node B to CN, from UE to traffic platform.
All-IP Hardware Platform Achieving Smooth Evolution: ZTE SDR-based Uni-RAN solution supports smooth evolution to HSPA+ only by software upgrade, network rate reaches 21.6Mbps, improving 50% compared with 14.4 Mbps of HSPA. Meanwhile, LTE evolution is also feasible for SDR-based Node B. Network rate can achieve 150 Mbps or higher after network upgrade by adding baseband processing board.
Leading Commercial Capability: ZTE HSPA+ has industry leading commercialization capability. On Mar. 30, 2009, Hong Kong CSL commercially launched the first SDR-based All-IP HSPA+ network in the world, its limit rate hits 21 Mbps. With such high rate support, CSL is developing new services like high definition video playing, high-speed data downloading, etc., which helps it to stay ahead in future competition. On Sep. 2, CSL announced they would launch LTE network next year. Max rate of LTE trial network currently reaches 127 Mbps.

ZTE innovative SDR soft base station helps operator conduct tailored mobile broadband solution, shaving each bit bandwidth construction cost, making network upgrade much more convenient and easier. Fast improvement of network rate and performance creates opportunities to promote colorful multi-media services, effectively enhances operators’ competitiveness, allowing subscribers to experience brand new high-speed services and lifting ARPU value, obtaining its own “blue sea” amid fierce marketing competition.
