ZTE Unified Platform Guarantees Seamless and Smooth Evolution

ZTE has planed future evolution solution for EDGE and has launched complete unified hardware platform, which will realize mixed access of GERAN/UMTS/WiFi/Wimax. More efficient coding schemes are support such as 16QAM, 32QAM coding scheme and MCS10-MCS11. Multi-carrier EDGE channel assign is also supported(single subscriber could get more than eight TS). ZTE ZXG10 BTS series’ downlink data rate achieves to 669.6Kbps with the adoption of MCS9(16QAM) modulation and 2 slots dual carrier; if MCS11(32QAM) is adopted the downlink data rate will be 868.7 Kbp; if it use super density carrier data combination technology, the downlink data rate will be improved greatly to 2-4M, which could parallel HSPA. ZXG10 BTS series’ uplink data rate arrives to 217.2kbps with the utilization of QAM modulation and new type of TS structure and DSP technology. Beside data rate improving technology, key technologies of Enhanced EDGE decrease RTT(Round Trip Delay) and improve frequency reusing efficiency. Moreover, with other ZTE innovative technologies, Cell edge coverage is enhanced, system resource using is much flexible, much high data rate service could be carried, therefore future requirement could be satisfied.

ZTE unified radio network resource controller ZXG10 iBSC: based on all-IP structure platform, integrated with 3G RNC to be one physical unit, it could support various licenced mobile access technology such as GSM/EDGE/UMTS/TD-SCDMA etc. and unlicenced mobile access such as WiFi,WiMAX network controller to realize BSC/RNC/UNC function.

BSCplus – Local Switching

ZTE BSCplus solution aims to satisfy the market demand and provides better service for operators. BSCplus has integrated radio resource management, local switching and medium conversion functions together, also can implement local switching and terminated of internal local call.

Reducing TCO（Total Cost of Ownership）of equipment is the target which ZTE is pursuing constantly. Low cost is still the most important factor in BSCplus solution.

• BSCplus integrates the functions of three network elements. In the condition of the same capacity, BSCplus equipment requires less equipment-room and electricity expenditure, so the investment of operator is reduced greatly.
• BSCplus converts A interface into inter-rack interface and helps the operators save investment on transmission equipment. This advantage is quite apparent when low cost is required.
• BSCplus will support IP Abis and Abis full dynamic allocation and decrease Abis interface transmission in future.
