Telecom network always has a concern in the development: how to effectively manage the existing networks, raise the network utilization rate, reduce OPEX and secure the network management. Therefore, network management is an indispensible part of telecom network construction.
Now network management is not simple network equipment maintenance and fault monitoring any more. The carriers need an integrated solution to operation-oriented software products, which supports the whole operation process and must have the following features:
ZTE’s NM products NetNumen series and Unitrans® ZXTOP series supply the carriers with the integrated, operation-oriented solution. ZTE provides relative software products to meet the demands from network maintenance to network management and value-added function.

NetNumenTM is ZTE’s optical transport network management system which adopts ITU-T and TMN design ideas and advanced network management technologies. NetNumenTM series consists of NetNumenTM T30, NetNumenTM T31, NetNumenTM T32 and NetNumenTMT37, and covers NE layer, NE management layer, network management layer and northbound interface. It can manage ZTE’s self-developed SDH, DWDM and metro transport network equipment as well as PTN, OTN and ASON equipment. It is a major part of ZTE’s optical transport network solution. It has powerful End-To-End (ETE) network and bandwidth management, supports fast multiservice provision and offers different data for network planning and decision-making system. It provides the multiservice and multi-equipment NM platform.
NetNumenTM T32 is the network-layer management system which has powerful multiservice management, ETE management and flexible networking and supports multiservice and multi-equipment management. It is designed for large-scale network deployment and performs seamless interconnection with third-party NM or OSS via CORBA interface. T32 supports layer network topology management, path management, connection management, report management, fault & maintenance management, performance & QoS guarantee and security management. It has the following characteristics: powerful network management capability to manage 64×EMS, perfect and reliable network management disaster tolerance design, convenient and fast network service deployment, powerful network resource management, intelligent fault analysis and diagnosis, and advanced prevention-type maintenance design.
NetNumenTM T31 is the network management system based on distributed and plug-in design and the unified management platform of ZTE’s optical transport products. It has powerful NE management, ETE management and flexible networking. It can perform configuration management, performance management, maintenance management, fault management, security management and system management. In addition to network equipment management and maintenance, T31 offers many value-added functions: flexible and customized system, customized reports, customized resource naming, special Favorite, and customized policy management, etc. It meets network management demands and makes the user enjoy software Ease Of Use (EOU).
NetNumenTM T30 is developed on the unified management platform. It adopts multiple network management technologies and ITU-T TMN design ideas and can perform configuration management, performance management, maintenance management, fault management, security management and system management. T30 is Local Maintenance Terminal (LMT) product. It can be installed into portable computer to provide convenient single-NE maintenance and management.
NetNumenTM T37 is the northbound interface via which integrated NM or OSS provide EMS/NMS NM. It supports such northbound interface technologies as CORBA, SNMP, FTP and file. CORBA interface complies with OMG TMF814 standards and provides resource configuration, fault management, performance management, SNC management, MSTP management, protection management, maintenance management, WDM management, security management, clock management, FTP management, system management and event notification. SNMP complies with TMF protocols SNMPv1, SNMPv2c and SNMPv3 and provides basic functions, configuration management, fault management, performance management and security management.
Unitrans® ZXTOP series is the value-added transport network planning software launched by ZTE to better transport network planning & design, reduce CAPEX and OPEX, improve network resource utilization rate and evaluate network security and reliability. The transport network planning software on the basis of core algorithm takes capacity planning, route planning and fault emulation as core functions, supports convenient user input interface and flexible condition setting, and generate the best planning scheme as required by the user. It is an major part of ZTE’s operation-oriented solution to optical transport network.
Unitrans® ZXTOP 500 can be used to plan traditional network/ASON/mixed network, backbone/metro/access network and MESH/ring/chain/mixed network. It supports mixed planning of multiple services, multilayer SDH/OTN/WDM design and green-field planning & incremental planning. It can meet user demands in different network constructions. It creates the services of different service layers according to different transport-layer service demands, sets different service protections for different services, meets different service demands, e.g., link separation, node separation, SRLG and route segmentation, and perform effective planning for all user service demands.
Unitrans® ZXTOP 510, based on advanced core algorithm, can perform WDM network route/wavelength planning, network optical parameter calculation, network design & analysis and network design & optimization fast and efficiently. ZXTOP 510 supports convenient user input interface and flexible condition setting, and generate different network schemes with lowest cost, best performance or best design. After design & planning, the software can generate detailed reports and network design engineers can further adjust and optimize existing network designs as required.
