The communications networks evolve with the progress of technology and development of social information construction. The weaknesses of legacy PCM equipments become manifest: singular networking mode, few service functionalities and lack of multi-service interfaces. Typical network applications
Interfaces desired by the electric utility communications network mainly contain low-speed asynchronous data interface, 64K data interface, voice channel and 2/4-line analog channel. Traffic from numerous transformer stations and electric power supply offices flow to the scheduling center, thus forming multi-node service aggregation, and centralized scheduling management is completed.
ZTE PCM equipments ideally fit such requirement. They use E1 as the unified interface at transmission side to provide a wide variety of service interfaces, making it easy for introduction of new services and adapting to burgeoning demands for new services. With digital cross-connect function, ZTE PCM equipments can form star, tree and even hybrid networks.

Rail transit plays a pivotal role in China’s transportation system. Being important in information transmission between operation control center and station, as well as two stations, the transmission sub-system in rail transit is the infrastructure and basis of rail transit communications network, and supplies transmission channels for all intelligent rail communication systems to deliver voice, data and image information. Service types include analog user, 2M digital service, broadband audio broadcast service, various low-speed data services and 10/100Mbit/s Ethernet services.
PCM access equipments can be deployed in various control centers, vehicle sections and stations to address network service demands. PCM access equipments enable access of diversified services, and send them to SDH/MSTP transmission networks via unified transmission interfaces. Network management center set in the control center monitors the PCM equipments in the whole network.
PCM equipments are responsible for access of control information, clock system information, broadcast information, power supply and monitoring information. They can form chain network to transmit broadband audio broadcast and data signals via audio and data shared wire transmission. 3 RS422 interfaces are available to transmit broadcast control and clock transmission and power supply monitoring services between the control center and stations. The control center sends broadband audio broadcast to stations, and each station returns one line of monitoring audio.
