Requirements
ODN, as part of the PON network, generally costs a lot of the total expense in PON network deployment in different application modes. ODN is also the most complicated and difficult part in PON network design and deployment. Many carriers focus on how to build ODN, what they should do, and how to provide services to the end users through ODN.
The topology structure of FTTx system mainly refers to that of ODN. In PON network ODN does not include any electronic parts or electronic power; it is exclusively made up of optical splitters and other passive parts which do not entail any precious active electronic devices, such as fibers, ODF, contribution cabinet, connectors, boxes and other passive attachments.
