ZXUCP A200 – ASON Control Plane Software System

ZXUCP A200 is the ASONControl Plane (CP) software system developed by ZTE on WDM platform. The WDM-based technology has such functions as automatic routing, automatic discovery of resources and network topology, service grooming, traffic engineering and SLA to control and manage the network. It is applied to edge layer (convergence and access) of large metro network, metro backbone layer and national & regional backbone network.

Features

ZXUCP A200 is the embedded software system adopting the distributed design. It runs in the control board of NE equipment and employs the overlay model.ZXUCP A200 has the following characteristics:

  • Fast automatic discovery of network topology

With standard OSPF-TE protocol, ZXUCP A200 disperses and collects network control channel information to automatically generate network control route information, and disperses and collects network service link information to automatically discover network resource topology information.

  • Powerful automatic discovery and management of network resource

ZXUCP A200 uses LMP to automatically discover and manage network control channel, automatically discover network link resource, and verify & manage its connectivity and consistency.

The resource granules for automatic discovery and management are:

Optical fiber (OMS);

Wavelength (OCh);

Subwavelength (ODUK);

  • Fast end-to-end service configuration

ZXUCP A200 adopts standard RSVP-TE and works with the wavelength intercross-block function of WDM equipment to fulfill fast ETE service configuration. The service supports SPC (soft permanent connection) launched by Management Plane (MP) and SC (switch connection) launched by the client.

In service creation, it supports priority policies as load equalization, shortest path and Route constrain to select the optimal service path. In service deployment and operation, it can dynamically modify connection attributes, monitor the realtime run status, and reroute to rapidly restore faulty service. It also supports automatic service deletion and the release of occupied resource.

In the process of connection path creation and operation, it can automatically select the optimal service path and dynamically adjust the performance based on WDM optical-layer physical features.

  • Multilevel SLA

ZXUCP A200 defines multilevel SLA to provide flexible service selection for the user. Dedicated line protection + MESH restoration can carry out <50ms service switching against WDM multipoint faults.

Shared ring protection + MESH restoration can carry out <50ms service switching to balance carrier-class QoS and link resource saving.

  • Standard technology and open platform

Standard protocol support: It uses standard GMPLS protocol family for CP protocol stack, OSPF-TE for route protocol, RSVP-TE for signaling protocol and LMP for resource management.

Open interface scheme: Its standard UNI and E-NNI can interconnect the equipment from other vendors.

Good scalability: The core is independent, information model is irrelative to specific equipment and vendor, and the scalability is easy.

Distributed structure and load balance: Configured in the distributed network node, CP employs independent high-performance CPU unit to rapidly control Transmission Plane (TP) and efficiently manage network and equipment.

  • Flexible equipment upgrade

ZXUCP A200 is configured on ZTEs hardware platforms,The WDM system can be upgraded to ASON function by adding CP.
