ZXONM N100, an network-level integrated NMS, is adaptable to large-scale, mulit-service, high-level network applications. It can implement multi-equipment, multi-service, mulit-subnet centralized management, and is an important element in ZTEˇs optical transport network solutions. ZXONM N100 core system can be freely upgraded due to an independent design, it can also manage EMSs and equipments from multiple vendors via different equipemnt adapters. ZXONM N100 can be used to effectively reduce operation&maintenance cost, increase service provison efficiency, improve quality of service of the transport system and enhance network carriersˇ competitive ability in the market.
ZXONM N100 consists of four sub-systems: GUI, Manager, database, adapter. Manager is implemented in multi-process distributed mode to enhance network management capability and processing efficiency. GUI and Manager, Manager and database, Manager and adapter adopt TCP/IP for communication, and functions and messages between them should interact via N100 F interface. Interaction between N100 server sub-system and EMS should be implemented via EMS adapter, one N100 server can correspond to multiple EMS adapters, while one EMS adapter should correspond to only one N100 server.

ZXONM N100 performs integrated management, browsing and optimization of global network resource information, and implements statistical analysis of transport network service trends and market service requirements, thus maximizes the utilization ratio of existing resources.
ZXONM N100 supports ZTE ZXMP and ZXWM series of optical transmission equipments, implements unified and centralized maintenance and management of multiple services (TDM, ATM, IP), while controlling the operating status of the entire network, equipments and circuits in real time, and lowering operation&maintenance cost.
With a path algorithm based on network service attribute and a path algorithm based on network protection characteristics and network topology, ZXONM N100 supports the services at rate levels of E1, T1, E3, DS3, E4, VC4_Xc, VC3_Xc, VC12_Xc, VC11_Xc, etc. It provides end-to-end service automatic configuration and circuit auto-search functions, and rapid service-oriented provision capability, it also supports unified dispatch and distribution of entire network services.
It has path creation, operation and deletion functions. Displays working route and protection route of the path via network view; displays and records path operating status via fault management system; generates statistics and collects path operating data via performance management, reflects path operating quality; displays network resources occupied by path via resource management.
With analysis and statistic tools for transmission performance and network operating quality, ZXONM N100 performs analysis and diagnosis for entire network faults, ensuring accurate locating and in-time removal of transmission network faults.
ZXONM N100 accesses high level NM via CORBA interface, and sends data to integrated NMS or network planning and decision-making system. Interface with EMS supports CORBA and F interfaces.
ZXONM N100 performs cross-partition of user authority via object management domain and operation functional set to provide layered security mechanism-GUI, Manager, Adapter 3-level security mechanism and layered security mechanism (user authentication, user authorization, access rule), with good security and data consistency.
ZXONM N100 offers multiple data protection modes in terms of data security:
Dual-computer standby: both computers have their own independent database systems. Implement data backup between different hosts.
Database backup: backup and store the specified data from NM to assigned peripheral memories such as magnetic disk, magnetic tape, optical disc, etc. If necessary, restore the data from assigned peripheral memory to the system.
Disk mirroring: in the same host, synchronously backup all modified data on the main disk to the standby disk.
Comprehensive report management provides detailed resource, service, event, alarm, performance statistics reports for users, facilitating routine work. The cross-platform print system can output reports to a printer or file, which is customizable.
The system can operate on mult-system platform including Windows and SUN Solaris, which may be selected according to user requirements, transmission network size and expected management capability, cost, while meeting user demands at all levels.
Java-based graphic user interface provides multiple interface styles which are easy for customization. It has standard HTML help and plentiful report functions. The interfaces are consice, trim, attractive and practical.
With a GUI/Manager-DB/Agent three-level structure and distributed architecture, ZXONM N100 facilitates NM networking (remote NM, multi-client and single-server mode, regional NM, server data hot-backup/synchronization), and is adaptable to trunk line networking mode supervised hierarchically by telecom NM.
