ZXONM E300, an EMS based on distributed, modular and hierarchical design, has perfect configuration, alarm, performance, maintenance, security and report management functionality and features specific sub-network management functions to implement management and control of both NE and regional network.
ZXONM E300 adopts three-layer GUI/Manager-DB/Agent architecture, with a Client/Server relationship between various modules.

- High security: it provides hierarchical control from the bottom layer to the upper layer, and offers various services for customers with different levels;

System Characteristics
Advanced architecture and high scalabilityWith a distributed architecture, ZXONM NMS features high flexibility and scalability. GUI, Manager and database can operate on one or several computers. A Manager may comprise several sub-Managers, and be flexibly configured according to network scale and equipment configuration by adding or deleting sub-Manager dynamically, which is easy for extension.
Multi-process design
Adopting a multi-process design, ZXONM E300 kernel can process several tasks simultaneously. Multiple GUIs may log into the Manager at the same time, the Manager may administer multiple NEs at the same time, and one user can perform multi-window operations at the same time.
End-to-end circuit management capability
With certain sub-network management functionality, the ZXONM E300 supports end-to-end circuit management functions to create and search circuits, modify circuit source/sink ports or create batch circuits/time slots and process circuit-based alarms, it also supports automatic creation of DNI networking circuits.
3-level security mechanism
ZXONM E300 NSM implements 3-level security mechanism. Corresponding security measures are taken by GUI, Manager and Agent, featuring robust security.
Perfect data consistency protection
Employing a database backup and synchronization mechanism, ZXONM E300 features good security while ensuring the data consistency. In the case of multi-GUI/multi-Manager-DB, the locking mechanism and database synchronization mechanism are used to ensure synchronization and consistency among multiple GUIs and Managers. It also supports database uploading and downloading. Data synchronization, subject to Agent data or E300 data, includes synchronization of LCT modified data.
Cross-platform solution
ZXONM E300 may operate on Windows 2000/Windows 2003, HP-UX and SUN Solaris. It supports several hardware platforms, including PC, SUN, HP workstations or severs, and MS SQL Server, Sybase database systems, meeting demands for the users at different levels.
Powerful and flexible networking capability
Based on GUI/Manager-DB/Agent three-layer architecture, ZXONM E300 features flexible networking capability. The background NM can provide remote NM via various networking modes; the remote connection can be performed between GUI and Manager, and between Manager and Agent, facilitating multi-NM system and master/slave NM protection. The master/slave is loosely based on NE, which is useful for complex management domain division. The mutual and real time 1:N master/slave NM protection is unique to the industry.
Robust equipment management capability
ZXONM E300 can manage ZTE ZXMP and ZXWM series. Its actual management capability depends on NM hardware indices, with on limitation to its managed NE number. In the advanced configuration, it can manage up to 2000 equivalent NEs and support 4-64 clients.
Generous statistical, analysis, report management functions
Perform statistical analysis on historical performance and display as tables or graphs;
Query historical alarms by time, severity, NE, board and user-defined values;
Current alarm, event and performance reports;
Board configuration report;
All-network circuit reports.
Northbound interface availability
ZXONM E300 offers standard CORBA interface northwards to interface with the third-party network-level NM, operator integrated NMS and ZXONM N100.
NM Module Structure and Interface

- GUI functions
GUI (Graphic User Interface) is equivalent to Client. With iLog for C++ development tool, it enables a completely identical operation interface of Windows platform and Unix platform. It has following functions:
Offering graphic interface
Offering diversified service interfaces, including configuration management, fault management, security management, maintenance management, system management and help system.
- Manager functions
Receive request from user interface, analyze the request, and send the analyzed information to Agent or database;
Receive the information processed by database, analyze the information and sent them to user interface;
Receive the information from Agent, analyze the information, and send them to database or user interface.
- DB (database) processing functions
Offer storage for various data;
Master/slave NM data synchronization;
Receive the message from Manager, execute querying, adding, deleting, updating record operations.
- Agent functions
Agent locates at NCP board.
Receive request from Manager, analyze the request, and send to various boards;
Collect information of NEs and various boards automatically, report to Manager after analyzing.
- Interface
CORBA interface (Common Object Request Broker Architecture): Manager northbound interface between Manager and network-layer NM or subnet/layer NM, compliant with TMF814 standard;
Qx interface: the interface between Agent and Manager. Qx interface employs Ethernet mode and communicates via TCP/IP;
F interface: the interface between GUI and Manager. F interface employs Ethernet mode (capable of emulating on the same computer), it adopts TCP/IP for Ethernet. F interface can be used between N100 and E300 if ZXONM N100 is used as network-layer NM;
f interface: the interface between Agent and LCT. f interface can employ Ethernet or RS-232 mode, it adopts TCP/IP for Ethernet and adopts user-defined communication protocol/LAPD communication protocol for RS-232;
S interface: the interface between Agent and MCU. S interface employs HDLC-based communication mechanism for point-to-multipoint communication and adopts user-defined communication protocol;
ECC interface: the interface between Agent and Agent. Physical layer of ECC interface employs DCC, supports standard TCP/IP. With OSPF routing protocol, it supports perfect OSPF routing protocol functions, such as IP sub-network partition, route loop avoidance, route automatic protection.
