ZXWN MSCS: Mobile Switching Center Server

ZTE mobile softswitch server, ZXWN MSCS, is an important control network element (NE) in overall ZTE mobile softswitch solution. Located at core control layer in GSM/UMTS/TD-SCDMA network, it provides calling control, media gateway control, user data management, and inter-network interworking functions.

ZXWN MSCS supports service function of VMSC, TMSC, GMSC, CMN, and SSP in GSM/UMTS/TD-SCDMA network, and realizes networking flexibly. ZXWN MSCS could be smoothly evolved to MGCF/mAGCF in IMS network, and protects operators' investment.

  • Unified ETCA Platform, Future-Oriented, Smooth Evolution
    ZXWN MSCS adopts ZTE ETCA platform. ETCA platform, as unified ZTE next generation core network platform, is applicable to MSCS/MSCe, MGW, SGSN/MME, HLR/HSS, IMS CSCF/MGCF, and other NEs of core network. ETCA platform has convergent and smooth evolution features, and protects operators' investment.

  • End-to-End All IP Networking, Save TC Resources and Transmission Resources, and Reduce TCO
    ZXWN MSCS supports A/Iu-CS over IP and realizes end-to-end ALL IP networking. Multi-IP transmission technique (IP over E1 with CRTP, RTP Multiplexing) greatly reduces VoIP bandwidth and saves transmission resources. TrFO/TFO technique saves TC resources and enhances voice quality.
  • Rich CAMEL Service
    ZXWN MSCS supports CAMEL 1/2/3/4, and CAMEL services in various standards, supports compatibility with traditional CAMEL1 and INAP, and supports interworking with private SCP service platform.

    MSC Pool is used to realize load-balancing and disaster recovery and improves resource utilization rate and network reliability.
    ZXWN MSCS uses MSC Pool solution, supports resources sharing in the Pool, reduces TCO, realizes load balancing of peak hour traffic, supports network disaster recovery, and improves system reliability and resource utilization rate.
    As special feature of ZTE, MGW realizes BSC Pool function as an agent, so that 2G BSC can realize MSC Pool function without upgrading, to enhance network reliability.

    ZXWN MSCS supports CSFB and provides most cost-effective voice solution for LTE. ZXWN MSCS supports SRVCC and provides perfect voice solution for IMS/LTE network.

Till 2010Q4, ZTE CN Softswitch products have served 1.45 billion subscribers over 100 operators in 113 countries worldwide, including HongKong CSL, China Mobile, China Unicom, Hungary Telenor, Malaysia DiGi, UMobile, Germany Matala, Austria H3G, Egypt Etisalat, or Thailand AIS.
