Media Publishing Platform(MPP)

The media publishing platform (MPP) works together with the RMS1000 series to provide a unified platform for device management, user management, video/audio resource management, and stream media publishing. In addition, the MPP realizes the concurrent live streaming and VOD playing of multiple users and supports the resource sharing based on Android and IOS mobile terminals. The MPP is applicable for the scenario where a large number of RMS1000 devices are deployed and a lot of video resources need to be published.

Video/audio Resource Publishing
  • Based on the IP network, the MPP can publish video and audio resources on the RMS1000 series in Auto or Audit mode. Users can play or download these media resources as needed.
  • If there are a large number of media resources, users can input a keyword to search for a media file.
  • Resource publishing is based on the Web page. The MPP supports different browsers on both the Windows and Mac systems, including IE, Safari, Chrome, and Firefox. A single node can provide streaming media services for a maximum of 200 users (both the live streaming and VOD playing users).
  • The MPP uses HTML5, a resource sharing technology, and supports the resource sharing based on Android and iOS mobile terminals.

User and Permission Management

  • The MPP supports a large number of user connections. The MPP users are granted with different levels: administrator, guest, and visitor. Users of different levels log in to the MPP in different modes, and are assigned with different system permissions for video/audio resources. For convenient management, users can be added to different user groups with various access permissions.
  • The MPP can use LDAP to update user data.

Data Statistics

The MPP can collect statistics about the number of online users, live streaming users, and VOD users in addition to the hit-rank of each media file.

RMS1000 Management

The MPP can manage a connected RMS1000 (starting, pausing/resuming, or stopping a recording task on the RMS1000) and monitor the connection status by generating an alarm in case of connection exceptions.

A recording task can be started in manual recording or scheduled recording mode. In scheduled recording mode, a recording task can be started or stopped automatically as scheduled. The MPP supports the input of batch scheduled tasks in Excel format.

Video/audio Resource Storage and Management

  • The MPP supports Redundant Array of Independent Disks 5 (RAID 5) to ensure data security and uses the Internet Small Computer System Interface (iSCSI) for network storage (IP SAN).
  • The administrator can categorize and publish video/audio resources on the MPP, and modify the file description as needed. Authorized users can download and delete files as needed. Files can be downloaded through a client. The MPP supports resuming download and allows users to manually import video/audio files recorded on the RMS1000.
