CSL was built in 1983, which is the first and biggest mobile communication operator and belongs to Telstra (Australia telecommunication company), the user number ranks first in Hong Kong. As the leading operator in mobile communication market, CSL provides overseas multi-media services by different brands, like “1010”, “One2Free” and “New World Mobility”.
On March, 2006, CSL annexed and inherited a network of other Hong Kong operator called NWM (New World Mobility) There are four networks of CSL after annexed: one GSM900, two GSM1800 and one UMTS2100,which are located in 4 core machine rooms. It’s impossible to sharing wireless and service platform upgrading and expansion. The overlapping investment of equipment and complicated networking has greatly influenced CSL to expanding 2G/ 3G,and increased OPEX.
With more and more competition and newly rising 3G operators, the pressure of CSL integration has been increased. For keep its leading position in HK, CSL needs to optimize the network structure, reduce OPEX, and provide users with converged, high speed and individual service.
ZTE has done a lot of work and customize 2G/3G shared core network solution which includes network convergence of NWM and CSL, convergence of 2G and 3G network, integrate original sets of CS domain and PS domain equipment, and combine original 4 networks into one network.,share the networks’ resource, which highly ensures the stability of Core network. ZTE core network can interconnected with more than 45 platforms, fully shows their high interoperation test, capacity and stability. At the same time, in order to be compatible with current network services and successful cutover, ZTE customizes lots of particular solutions for CSL to ensure smooth transition.
ZTE solution Highlights:
● Huge capacity and high integration, reducing TCO
● Smooth network replace, enhance customer experience
● Complicated application environment, which shows system IOT ability
● All-IP to create a flexible network
● HSPA achieves high-speed data experience
● Advanced whole network disaster recovery technologies, ensure the services continuity of core network elements
● Convergence of multi-networks simplifies network architecture, decrease CAPEX and OPEX
● Customized services, increase customer adherence and APRU
● Fully technologies upgrade, smooth network evolution
“Besides all-around E2E solution, ZTE also rapidly sufficed our various customized requirements. The partnership with ZTE held CSL stay way ahead of the competition.”
